Telehealth Services
Waves of change MN now offers clients telehealth services as an option for psychotherapy sessions. These capabilities allow us to improve access to your successful care program and accomodate your busy schedule. We are dedicated to ensuring you receive the best possible care with minimal interruptions. Many clients are moving to telehealth services during the COVID-19 crisis to ensure health, safety, and continuity of care.
New clients must reside in Minnesota or Florida to receive teletherapy services.
Telehealth is another means to providing therapy. Telehealth is just like an in-person session with a therapist, only over phone or video conferencing. At Waves of Change Counseling “telehealth services” primarily refers to two therapy options:
Video Therapy: counseling sessions provided via video conferencing
Telephone Counseling: counseling sessions provided via telephone
There are many benefits to having sessions with a Waves of Change therapist using telehealth.
It can be easier and more efficient for you to access mental health care
There may be more flexibility to schedule a time convenient for you.
You can talk to a therapist without physically coming to an office.
For video therapy, we are using Zoom Care to provide secure, confidential video therapy to our clients. You can learn about Zoom at zoom.us. Zoom incorporates industry standard network and software security protocols to protect your privacy and secure your health information.
What You Will Need
Here is what you will need to meet with a Waves of Change therapist using video therapy:
-A computer or tablet with a microphone and a camera
-Internet speed of at least 1 megabit per second (mbps)
-A private space (preferably a room with a door) without pets, family members or other distractions
-A secure internet connection (public Wi-Fi is not recommended due to lack of privacy)

Privacy
At Waves of Change, we value your confidentiality. To ensure your privacy, your therapist will connect with you from a space where they can reasonably ensure confidentiality and lack of interruption. Your therapist may use headphones and/or sound machines to enhance your privacy.
If it is your first session with the therapist, they will need to see your drivers license or other state-issued ID to confirm your identity.
Fees and Insurance
Your therapist will discuss fees with you in advance and keep you updated on any changes to fee structure or billing practices.
